Area of Expertise

As part of his higher specialist paediatric training in the UK, Dr Farooque completed three years of subspecialty training in Paediatric Endocrinology at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and other leading tertiary centres across the West Midlands, forming the core of his endocrinology practice. This training was further complemented by advanced training in key areas of paediatric endocrinology at the University of Birmingham and Cambridge University Hospital. During his 15-year UK career, Dr Farooque held consultant appointments at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust. He later continued his consultant practice in Saudi Arabia before relocating to the UAE. Prior to joining Medcare, he served as Head of the Paediatric Diabetes & Endocrinology Unit at Al Qassimi Women’s & Children’s Hospital, a tertiary children’s hospital, where he strengthened specialised services for children across the Northern Emirates over eight years.
