Dr. Awad commenced his sterling career as an assistant physician to specialist training in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Homs and Damascus in Syria. He then joined the Department of Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery at the Waldbroel Hospital in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. He worked for a few years in the Department of Surgery and Traumatology at Collm Clinic in Oschatz, Leipzig, Germany and then became a Specialist in the Department of General and Trauma Surgery at the same clinic. He later rose to become a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Trauma Center at St George Hospital in Germany and then a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Department of Trauma Surgery in the Clinic Collm Oschatz, Germany. Later he became a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Cologne Foot and Ankle Surgery Center in Germany
